NIH POCTRN (NIBIB) -- Fast Track Program for COVID-19 Test Development and Distribution

The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) is urgently soliciting proposals and can provide up to $500M across multiple projects to rapidly produce innovative SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic tests that will assist the public’s safe return to normal activities. Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx), is a fast-track technology development program that leverages the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Point-of-Care Technology Research Network (POCTRN).

NSF - Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS)

While tremendous progress has been made in advancing CPS technologies, the demand for innovation across application domains is driving the need to accelerate fundamental research to keep pace. At the same time, the CPS program seeks to open new vistas for the research community to think beyond the usual cyber-physical paradigms and structures and propose creative ideas to address the myriad challenges of today's systems as well as those of the future that have not yet been designed or fielded.

COVID-19 Small Grants Program

This funding opportunity seeks to support effective coalitions that will bolster and leverage U.S.-India collaboration across a range of fields to fight COVID-19, in India and globally. Potential grantees should be able to implement a small-grants program to promote innovation in addressing COVID-19, encourage partnerships between U.S.

The Emergency Medicine Foundation COVID-19 Research Grant

The Emergency Medicine Foundation invites applications for its COVID-19 research grant. This supports research that will provide high-impact new knowledge to advance emergency patient care, improve response of hospitals, healthcare and emergency medical services systems, and protect emergency medicine healthcare professionals during pandemics. Topics may include the following areas:

- personal protective equipment, including design, cleaning and reuse;
- ventilator scarcity;
- telemedicine;
- laboratory testing;

PCORI, Engagement Award Special Cycle: Supporting Engagement in and Dissemination of PCOR/CER in the Context of COVID-19

This program supports projects that encourage active integration of patients, caregivers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders as integral members of the patient-centered outcomes research/comparative clinical effectiveness research (PCOR/CER) enterprise, aiming to help communities increase their capacity to participate across all phases of the PCOR/CER process while responding to contextual changes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

AXA Research Fund (LIMITED SUBMISSION, one application per department)

Program aims to fund projects in the following areas: protecting vulnerable populations from epidemics and catastrophes; improving data collection and quality in health; understanding the effects of confinement and social distancing; early warning and preparedness; preserving the environment and our health; and learnings from COVID-19 for mitigating future related crises in climate and biodiversity. Preference will be given to projects with a local focus and potential applicability on a global scale. Applicants should be six to ten years from the awarding of their doctorate.

American Lung Association COVID-19 and Emerging Respiratory Viruses Research Award

This award will fund clinical, basic, translational, and population health projects that seek to better understand the pathobiology and clinical implications of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) viral infection that leads to the morbidity and mortality seen with COVID-19 : a new understanding of the basic biology of respiratory viruses that could lead to better treatment and prevention; development of novel therapeutics and vaccines; understanding host factors that alter response to these infections; understanding individual, regional, or social factors increasing
